Portraits serve an important role in preserving identity and memory, representing the diversity of human experience, and illustrating the fundamental similarities that connect us as individuals across different societies and generations. Building relationship between myself and the subject is a fundamental component of my process, as effective communication and mutual trust contribute to the subject’s authentic engagement within the photographic process. This collaborative relationship enables my work to move beyond the subject’s physical and construct a more nuanced representation of their identity, emotional state, and individual experience.
